I am an ultrasound technician, aka sonographer, aka one of those people who look at babies...
Well news flash folks ultrasound isn't just babies and bellies! It abdomens, abcesses, and testicles! It's prostates, ovaries, and procedures. You can use it on almost any part of a human body and then some! So here's why I love ultrasound, I get to interact with patients on a personal level in most cases without causing them any pain, while helping them achieve their health goals. I love knowing that I was able to be a part of something bigger than myself, helping to heal people inadvertently. Working in ultrasound has been the best move of my life and hope that everyone can find a job that they enjoy doing as much as I do!
But....
Here is why you should never go to an unaccredited school for Ultrasound.
A) Student Loans do not go away (school cost me over 34,000 before interest)
B) You CANNOT take the Registry exams right away (which means no one will hire you)
C) When you say your schools name and people groan it's a bad thing.
